There was an unintended loophole in the rules that allowed multiplayer games where only one word was committed to a spell to go on forever. Since there are no rules for what happens when you run out of location or problem cards (it was intended for this to be impossible in a standard game), a minor change was made to the gifting rules to ensure that at least one word is lost each turn.
